Timmins_Police_Service_logo_updDuring the month of June, Timmins Police officers charged four individuals with impaired driving and related offences.

On June 5, 2015 at approximately 3:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Rea St. in Timmins. Upon speaking to the driver, officers noted signs of impairment. Following an investigation, Richard DAIGLE, 23, of Timmins was charged with impaired driving, and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

On June 19, 2015, at approximately 3:20 a.m., police responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle collision in the area of Lafleur Dr. and Airport Road. Police arrived on scene and located the vehicle and driver. Upon speaking to the driver, officers noted signs of impairment.

Following investigation, Nicholas PARKER, 24, of Sudbury, ON, was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with no currently validated permit, failing to properly wear a seat belt, and novice driver having blood alcohol content above zero, all of which are Highway Traffic Act offences.

On June 27, 2015, at approximately 12:20 p.m., police received a call regarding an individual driving an All-Terrain Vehicle without a helmet in the area of Lafleur Dr. and Norman St. Police located the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled from police and a brief pursuit occurred. Police were able to stop the motor vehicle and upon speaking to the driver, noted signs of impairment.

Following an investigation, Paul ARCHIBALD Jr., 28, of Timmins was charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and flight while pursued by a police officer. He was also charged with failing to wear a helmet while driving an off-road vehicle, obstruct plate, and novice driver having a blood alcohol level above zero pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

On June 28, 2015, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police spoke to the driver of a vehicle at a local establishment. Upon speaking to the driver, police noted signs of impairment. Following an investigation, Warren ZACK, 32, of Garden River, ON, was charged with care or control of a vehicle while impaired and fail or refuse to provide a breath sample.

If residents suspect a driver may be impaired, they should call 9-1-1 immediately. Impaired driving is a criminal offence, and could have fatal consequences. Some signs that a driver may be impaired include tailgating, slow response to traffic signals, turning abruptly or illegally, erratic braking, or drifting in and out of traffic lanes.
