school busWith school back in session, safety should be your top priority on the road.

Timmins Police Constable Jason Warren says when the lights are flashing, and kids are coming on or off the bus, you need to come to a complete stop.

“Doesn’t matter if they’re pulled to the side of the road, or on a highway,” he said, adding the only exception is when the bus is stopped on a divided highway (the closest one is south of North Bay.)

Failure to do so can be very costly.  Warren says a fine for not stopping for a school bus is $490, plus six demerit points off your license.
