OPPA professional can steal your vehicle in just 30 seconds – without a key. The South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is participating in the Province wide “Lock It or Lose It” Campaign and wants to warn motorist about the dangers of property and identity theft that can result from unlocked vehicles or leaving valuables in plain view.

An unlocked door or open window is an invitation to thieves. The “Lock It or Lose It” campaign reminds drivers to always:

  • Roll up your vehicles’ windows.
  • Keep valuables out of sight.
  • Lock your doors.
  • Pocket your keys.
  • Don’t leave your vehicle running unattended.
  • At night or during extended parking periods, always park in a well-lit area.

The OPP is committed to raising crime-prevention awareness during this holiday season and reminds motorists to be especially vigilant this time of year when many people are doing more shopping then usual and have holiday purchases in their vehicles. Remember, “Lock It or Lose It”.
