Some snowmobile trails still closed in the area

Good luck driving your snowmobile to Gogama – the trail is still closed.

Timmins Snowmobile Club President, Raymond Corbeil  says crews are still working hard to remove the downed trees

“The machine they’re using broke and we had to get another one flown in.  The Lumber company working on the situation was also working on a bridge that was supposed to be done by the end of January, now it’s pushed back to the end of February.”

Corbeil says the trail system to Chapleau and Foleyet should be open in the next day or two. The L143 trail to Shining Tree is groomed on the Timmins club’s end but shouldn’t turn green until the other end is ready.

“They did meet the groomer from down south and we used a groomer from Ottawa who didn’t have enough snow so they lent us theirs.”
