Timmins Police Official-Badge

The Timmins Police Service, working in collaboration with the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, has completed a month long drug investigation which culminated with the execution of search warrants and an arrest yesterday.

Based on evidence obtained in the course of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a Middleton Street apartment and at a Maple Street South residence.

As a result, the Timmins Police Service – Drug Enforcement Section has seized approximately 2500 methamphetamine tablets, $300 in cash, and an assortment of drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The street value of the suspected methamphetamine tablets is $25,000.00.

Additionally, Nicholas CORMIER, 20, of Timmins, was arrested and has been charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused person remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
