The Timmins Police Service is investigating a Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) involving a pedestrian which occurred on Saturday, February 11th, at the intersection of Algonquin Blvd East and the access road for J & B Cycle and Marine.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:35 p.m. where an 81 year old female pedestrian was struck while crossing the intersection in an easterly direction.

The collision involved an unknown type of mini-van or smaller SUV, silver in color.

The driver came to a stop at the intersection and then proceeded into traffic, knocking the pedestrian to the ground.

The seriousness of the injury sustained was not discovered until later and has been determined to be quite serious in nature requiring that the victim remain at the Timmins and District Hospital for prolonged medical treatment.

The driver is described as a male person who is English speaking.

Assistance is required in locating the driver involved in this collision.

Video clearly identifies a dark colored vehicle in line behind the vehicle involved in the collision as well as a third vehicle which came to a stop to render assistance while east bound on Algonquin Blvd East.

Additionally, two other pedestrians are captured on video in the vicinity of the collision as they proceed on their way east towards the Tim Horton’s franchise.
