The Timmins Rock Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club Inc. is happy to announce a change in its presidency. Ted Gooch has been appointed President for the Timmins Rock effective February 20th, 2017.

“I am pleased to welcome Mr. Ted Gooch into the role of President,” said Jason Kelly, a member of the board of directors.

Past president, Scott Marshall, will be stepping down from his position, and will act as a team advisor during this transition.

“I want to thank Scott for his dedication and hard work in keeping Junior A hockey alive and well in Timmins.” Gooch said.

Mr. Scott Marshall has devoted over 18 years of his professional life to the not-for-profit organization.

“We are thankful to the City of Timmins and its residents in showing its support to the Timmins Rock hockey club. Our attendance shows Timmins was hungry for good caliber hockey, and I am positive we are moving in the right direction to deliver a quality organization on and off the ice,” Gooch said.

The Timmins Rock competes in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), and is one of 131 Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) teams who compete for the Royal Bank Cup (Hockey Canada National Title).

The franchise was established in 1991, and is entering its 26th of operation. The franchise is operated by a not-for-profit Ontario Corporation administered by an all-volunteer Board of Directors.
