A Timmins father has been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm after an incident involving his 4-year old child.

Timmins Police state in a release that last month (March 10), “a local child protection agency reported a fracture sustained by a 4 year-old victim.”  After police investigated, they had belief the father assaulted the child.

The 25-year old man was arrested last Friday with a Promise to Appear in court.  He is due in court July 11.

To protect the victim’s identity, police say they name cannot be released.

 

OTHER POLICE MATTERS

A 33-year old Timmins woman was arrested Monday following a foot pursuit.

Timmins Police say they noticed Amanda Sutherland while on foot patrol, and that she was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

When the officer approached, Sutherland fled on foot.  She was later found with the assistance of other officers and placed under arrest.

Upon arrest, police found a quantity of controlled substances after a standard search.

They also learned she was bound by previously imposed conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Sutherland faces charges of Breach of Probation, Possession of a Schedule I Substance (x2) and Possession of a Schedule II Substance.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing set for today.  The result of the hearing is not known.
