A new winter maintenance contract is coming in cheaper than the city thought.

A four-year contract—plus two one-year options—is being signed with Emcon Services for just under $3.9-million dollars.

An original estimate from the city was just over $4.35-million, which represents an annual savings of around $100,000.

The contract will cover a number of high-traffic roads.
