The speculation is over. It’s now official: pro wrestling will return to Timmins in a big way this fall in memory of the city’s late-promoter.

Max Pro Wrestling is teaming with the Sudbury-based Rock Solid Wrestling promotion to help bring the event to Ecole Secondaire Catholique Theriault on Saturday, October 14th.

Max Pro made the announcement via Facebook Monday.

The local point-men are Marc Ethier and Rick Lemieux, both longtime friends of Mike Patry, who passed away in February.

While little is known on what will be happening, one big part of the event will see the introduction of the “Mike Patry Memorial Tournament.”

Lemieux talked with Rogers Media’s Mark Pare about how everything came to be, what we can expect in October, when tickets will roll out on sale, the involvement of Rock Solid and a look back at some fond memories from past events.
