It’s only been six months since Dave Landers took over for Joe Torlone as the the city’s CAO, but city council wants to assess how well he’s performed thus far.

Initially, Mayor Steve Black wanted some input on forming a committee to do a performance evaluation.

Black doesn’t recall any assessment being done in his six years being around the table by anyone other than the Mayor. But with council being the CAO’s employer, he felt it was something to bring forward.

Councillor Joe Campbell suggested each councillor get a say on the matter.

Councillor Pat Bamford agreed, and suggested each councillor get the chance to fill out an assessment individually and submit them to the Mayor.

The idea stuck, as council voted in favour of doing just that.
