The Porcupine Health Unit reminds you that it’s time to get your flu shot.

Starting on Wednesday, November 1, the Health Unit in Timmins will be offering daily flu clinics from Monday to Friday 9am-noon and 1pm-5pm, and every Saturday morning from 10am-noon.

Dominique Mongeon, Public Health Nurse at the Porcupine Health Unit says, “Everyone is susceptible to getting the flu. Many people do not realize that influenza is a severe respiratory infection that can cause serious complications.”

Again this year, you’ll be able to book your flu shot appointment online. According to Mongeon, “All public Porcupine Health Unit flu clinics throughout our area will be listed on our website.”

The Porcupine Health Unit will be offering free immunization clinics throughout the month of November. “We encourage everyone to visit our website to see which flu clinic location and time works for you,” says Mongeon.

Mongeon encourages everyone to get vaccinated. “Protect yourself and the ones you care for by getting vaccinated every year,” she says. “Make the time to get immunized either through the health unit, your health care provider or through your local pharmacy.”
