From board games to stuffed animals, clothes, scoops and more, plenty of kids across Timmins and area will have a toy this holiday season thanks to another successful “Stuff an Ambulance and Fill A Crib toy drive” this past weekend.

North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services had the collection on display Tuesday morning.

They also received $1,931.10 in monetary donations.

Brooke Ballantyne of NEOFACS says the items they received is a wide range, from hygiene products to sporting equipment and of course, toys for all ages.

“This makes my heart so warm,” she said, “This is really truly what Christmas is all about is the feeling you get for giving. Especially to those coming from modest income families or mom or dad is sick or there’s something going on in the family.”

“This brings that little bit of extra joy in knowing that this is going to go to kids at Christmas and teenagers at Christmas and they’re going to have something to open under the tree. It’s just such a wonderful feeling.”

She says NEOFACS gives their clients an opportunity to fill out a Christmas wish list around Thanksgiving and do what they can to fill in those lists.
