Auxiliary officers from the Timmins Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police braved the cold temperatures on Saturday to collect food items for four local charities.

The “Cram-a-Cruiser” event saw police vehicles stationed at five local grocery stores throughout the day on Saturday, December 16.

The event garnered a total of 4150 lbs. of non-perishable food items, as well as $3320 in cash donations, which were divided between four local charities – the Timmins Food Bank, the South Porcupine Food Bank, First Baptist Church, and Project Love.

The Timmins Police and OPP Auxiliary units would like to thank the generous community members who donated to the event, as well as the local grocery store owners who assisted. The generosity of these individuals, through this event, has helped to make the holidays brighter for many Timmins residents.
