Local Police and Hotels are helping bring more attention to the victims of Human Trafficking.

The Timmins Police service says officers and hospitality staff are all going to be trained to spot potential victims of Human Trafficking and how the help. The funding  for the education is coming from the government

With 12 people saved last year by local officers, the TPS says parents also need to do their part and watch for the signs.

Police say signs include children coming home with expensive items they couldn’t afford before and parents should be monitoring their child’s social media accounts.

Police also say it could take victims at least three years or more to recover from being a victim.
