**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division is in the midst of completing its investigation into an incident where a 46 year old Timmins resident sustained critical injury during an assault that occurred during the afternoon hours of Wednesday April 11th.

The Timmins Police Service were first alerted to the incident when called to attend the Timmins and District Hospital where the victim was being treated for the injuries sustained.

The victim has since been released from hospital after receiving medical treatment.
The Timmins Police Service view this as an isolated incident, where the suspect targeted a specific victim, and that no threat to public safety persists.

The investigation into the incident has resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant for Christopher KILLEEN, 37, of Timmins on charges of:
– Attempt Murder contrary to section 239(1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada
– Breach of Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The Timmins Police Service is actively seeking to arrest this suspect.
