**TIMMINS POILICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of investigating a suspicious vehicle fire which occurred on Price Road, approximately six kilometers south of Dalton Road, in Price Township, south of the City of Timmins.
Police were first alerted to the incident during the late afternoon hours of Friday, April 20th.
Police believe that the remains of four individual were found at the scene. The identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed conclusively.
The investigation is in its preliminary stages and it involves the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office, and the Office of the Regional Coroner working in coordination with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Timmins Police Service.
The scene remains secure and under the control of our personnel. It is expected that the examination of the scene will take several days.
The exact time of the fire is being determined by investigators with the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division.
Public assistance is being sought in regards to information pertaining to any sightings of the vehicle, a 2004 Chrysler Intrepid, believed to be blue or green in color, in the area leading up to and including Friday, April 20th.
The Timmins Police Service view this fire as being suspicious in nature, and foul play has not been ruled out.
This is an unfolding tragic event for our community and our hearts go out to those who may be affected. We can assure our community and the public that we are devoting whatever resources are required to determine what has occurred and we wish to state that this incident is believed to be an isolated one where there is no threat to the safety of the general public

A follow up media conference will be held tomorrow (April 22nd) at the Timmins Police headquarters at 1:00 p.m. with the prospect of other such media conferences to follow if deemed necessary.
