**CITY OF TIMMINS NEWS RELEASE**


Throughout this period of hot, dry weather, the City of Timmins is asking residents to abide by By-law #1974-253 and amended By-law #2013-7419, which provides for the management, maintenance and regulation of the waterworks supply system of the City of Timmins.

External Water Usage

38a.) During the months of May, June, July and August, the external use of water is permitted:
i) On even calendar dates at only those municipal addresses ending with the numbers 0,2,4,6, and 8;

ii) On odd calendar dates at only those municipal addresses ending with the numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.

38b.) During the months of May, June, July and August, the external use of water for recreational purposes only (i.e. small pools, children water sprinklers, etc.) is permitted for all municipal addresses. Such recreational use shall require the presence of children, teenagers or adults, otherwise penalties as set out in Clause 40 of this By-law shall apply.

38c.) During an emergency period when it appears likely that the demand for the consumption of water will reduce the water pressure below the normal pressure required for safety or supply of water, the Mayor or Acting Mayor of The Corporation of the City of Timmins is hereby authorized to issue a temporary proclamation regulating the use of the water during such temporary period. Any external use of water during an emergency period shall require a permit from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the City of Timmins.
