UPDATE: The driver involved in the ‘hit and run’ collision involving a pedestrian has been located.

As the collision remains under investigation, no further details are available. We will provide information as it becomes available.


The Timmins Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a ‘hit and run’ collision during the afternoon of March 19, 2015.

At approximately 2:55 p.m., a driver traveling southbound on Spruce St. S turned right onto Third Ave., and struck a pedestrian. The driver then fled the scene. The victim was transported to hospital, and the extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown at this time.

The vehicle involved is described as an older model, light green van, believed to be a Dodge Caravan. The vehicle has winter tires on the front tires, and rims on the rear tires only. The driver is believed to have been wearing a fluorescent yellow high-visibility jacket.
