At approximately 2:55 p.m. on March 19, police responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Spruce St. S. and Third Ave.

Investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound on Spruce St. The vehicle then turned right onto Third Ave., and struck a pedestrian who was walking northbound on Spruce St. The vehicle then fled the scene.

The pedestrian, a 54 year-old male, was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was located a short time later. The driver, Robert STEVENS, 75, of Timmins was charged with Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Bodily Harm pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Stevens was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date scheduled for April 21, 2015.
