mushkegowuk logoResidential school survivors are walking from Cochrane to Ottawa.

On the way, they will stop at Northern College’s powwow this weekend.

Going through, they are looking to spread their message of hope and awareness.

Mushkegowuk Council Grand Chief Lawrence Martin says it’s the responsibility of all Canadians to learn about and honour the sad legacy of residential schools.

The nine walkers plan to reach Ottawa before the final event of the National Truth and Reconciliation Commission, held from May 31st-June 3rd.
