Help keep your teenagers away from drugs with new information from the Timmins Police.

They’re hosting the Straight Talks on Drugs seminar Tuesday night at the Dante Club.  Communication Coordinator, Kate Cantin says the event the brain child of Const. Matt Beerman.

“He is the school liaison officer at O’Gorman High School and was hearing stories and concerns from the principal on drugs.  He took it upon himself to organize the evening dedicated to equipping and encouraging parents as the deal with dangers of drug use among their teen children.”

The evening is featuring two guest speakers who have experiences dealing with drugs at their children. Speakers from the South Cochrane Drug Addiction Services and the Timmins Police Services’ Drug Enforcement section.

Cantin says it could become a yearly event depending on the success of Tuesday night.
Parent’s can still get tickets for the free event until this afternoon at their schools.
