A deal has been reached between Alberta and Ontario to foot the bill an air ambulance an Alberta woman needed after she went into labour two months early while vacationing in Timmins last month.

Amy Savill was flown to Sudbury because the Timmins hospital didn’t have a level-two neonatal intensive care unit to care for her premature baby girl.

Alberta’s Health Minister, Sarah Hoffman called Savill telling her the over 8 thousand dollar bill would be paid for and Savill says she was also told that changes would be coming between the two provinces so this situation doesn’t happen again.

Savill and and her son Carter have stayed positive, saying if you are going to be stuck, Sudbury is the place to do it.

Savill and her daughter Amelia, who is doing well, now face the challenge of getting home on a medical flight that could cost up to 50 thousand dollars.

A Global Angels donation has raised over 20 thousand dollars so far.
