Timmins Red Cross is helping out Hunger Awareness WHunger-Awareness-Week-Canadaeek by making sure students are well prepared to take on their day.

Bowlful of Breakfast is a fundraiser where parents can either make a financial donation or bring a cereal box to school.

Jennifer Vachon, with the student nutrition program, says they want to bring more awareness to the program and to help schools supplement the program as well.

Last year, the Bowlful of Breakfast cereal drive received enough donations to serve cereal everyday for the rest of the school year.

Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins is putting on Hunger awareness week and it runs from Sept 21-25.

Other ways to participate include a Brown Bag lunch challenge and cooking and canning workshops.
