The City of Timmins is undertaking a Feasibility Study for a new Aquatic Centre in Timmins!

Sierra Planning Management along with partner CS&P Architects has been retained by the City of Timmins to develop the Aquatic Centre Feasibility Study. This study builds on the recommendations of the 2014 Recreation Master Plan.

The main focus of the project will be to determine the best option for an Aquatic Centre – either in the form of a new aquatic facility or the replacement/renovation/expansion of the existing Archie Dillon Sportsplex pool facility. As a secondary task, the team will also seek to determine, at a high-level, the opportunities for the potential future expansion of the aquatic facility to create a comprehensive multi-use centre.

The anticipated completion date for the project is early 2016.

Get Involved!

Timmins’ Aquatic Centre Feasibility Study will involve consultation with a range of sector stakeholders (community groups, public, private, not-for-profit) as well as the public in identifying current needs, issues and priorities as it relates to developing an Aquatic Centre in the City.

The project will employ a range of means to gather public input including a series of public consultation sessions. And we’re having one this month for which we solicit that you attend.
