bissonNDP MPP Gilles Bisson for Timmins-James Bay does not agree with Hydro One’s decision to appoint their own Ombudsman.

Former city of Toronto Ombudsman Fiona Crean will take on this role and will be responsible for “facilitating the resolution of otherwise unresolved customer complaints.”

Bisson says it undermines the Office of the Ontario Ombudsman who has been active in looking into complaint about Hydro One

He also says since she will report to the Hydro One Board of Directors, she will be doing what they tell her to do, not what the public tells her to do.

Fiona Crean’s appointment becomes effective November 17th and the Office of the Ombudsman is expected to be operative in the first quarter of 2016.
