Students shouldn't feel effects of new strike action

Strike action from the OSSTF is hoping to jump start negotiations with the DSB ONE.

It was announced Monday that the teacher’s will begin sanctions which are generally administrative in nature.

But Doug Shearer, who is chair of DSB ONE, says it could affect extracurricular activities.

Derek Beland, teacher’s bargaining unit president says he’s hoping this will lead to an agreement.

The DSB Ontario North East and the OSSTF head to the bargaining table on Tuesday and both hope to see a quick resolution on outstanding issues.
