The snow is melting, that means it’s pothole season.

Public Works Manager, Ken Krcel says if the temperature stays above 0 in the coming weeks, crews will be hard at work filling them in.

“As we transition into spring crews will be redirected from snow removal to potholes and drainage issues.”

He adds when water creeps into the hole and freezes — the roads break up faster and are harder to repair.

“We’re still trying to complete snow removal but it’s that transition season. If we can get the snow melted and away from the roadways, it’ll eliminate the number of potholes”

“Everybody needs to be aware of potholes.  Don’t rush to work because the roads are bare and take the extra precaution.  We’re hoping to do our best to fill in as many as we can but the public needs to report them and drive according to the roads conditions.”
