The investigation began in November 2015, following reports of animosity between two individuals. The dispute quickly escalated to repeated harassment, which included repeated text messages and threats using both a cell phone number and social media and ordering various items to the complainant’s home. Multiple fraudulent postings were also created on online “buy and sell” websites using the complainant’s phone number.
The investigation took place over the course of several months by members of the Criminal Investigation Section and Electronic Crimes section and involved several search warrants and production orders.

The investigation led to Adam PIGEAU, 20, of Timmins being charged with:
? Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate (Sec. 264(2)(b), Criminal Code of Canada)
? Criminal harassment – beset and watch complainant (Sec. 264(2)(c), Criminal Code of Canada)
? Harassing communications (Sec. 372(3), Criminal Code of Canada)
? Personation with intent to cause disadvantage (Identity Fraud) (Sec. 403(1)(c), Criminal Code of Canada)
? Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm (Sec. 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code of Canada)

Pigeau was released on a Promise to Appear in court with a court date scheduled for April 26, 2016.
