The Timmins & District Hospital is holding it’s cards close when it comes to doctor-assisted death.

Chief Nursing Officer, Joan Ludwig says TADH is closely following the legislation process and will provide a comment once the legislation is approved.

Meanwhile, the Canadian senate is voting in favour, 41- 30 of amending Bill C-14 to include people who aren’t near death’s door.

Early word is the Liberal Government won’t be accepting this change.  Federal Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould is suggesting a Senate amendment to assisted dying legislation would be a dismantling of hard work by the Trudeau government.

Wilson-Raybould says the government worked hard to find the right balance on the issue
