Reclaimed McIntyre Mine Land

Somebody’s old reclaimed land is another person’s treasure.

The city is hosting the Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA) annual conference next week.

Delegates from the mining world and political world are occupying the city to learn about pat reclamation mistakes and discussing and sharing ideas and new technology.  CLRA representative Jennifer Hargreaves says the city is the ideal location for the conference.

“Timmins has such a rich history of mining, we feel it needs to be shared on the national level.  It also has a very successful run of reclaiming mine sites.”

While here, mining movers and shakers will tour the Glencore mine site, the Hollinger Pit, and McIntyre Mine site behind Highway 655 on June 29th.  The conference itself kicks off at the McIntyre Arena in the 26th.
