Canada Post issues 72 hour notice to lockout workers

Mail delivery could stop by Friday if there’s no labour peace soon at Canada Post.

The company issued a 72-hour lockout notice to the Canadian Union of Postal Workers overnight, saying it still hopes to negotiate a deal with the union representing 50-thousand workers.

But the union says Canada Post has refused to negotiate fairly and is now trying to starve its workers into submission.

The key sticking point in negotiations involves changes to employee pension plans.
