20160628_100006The Timmins Police Service is advising the public of an upcoming change in traffic control at the intersection of Wilson and Cameron South.

Traffic at this intersection will be controlled by means of a 4 way stop with an anticipated start date of the beginning of next week.

Residents are being advised to approach the intersection with caution as motorists become accustomed to the new four-way stop.

The obligations under the Highway Traffic Act are enacted to enhance roadway safety.

With this in mind, the Timmins Police Service is urging local motorists to be mindful of this change in traffic control at this intersection and to drive their vehicles according to the rules of road.

Timmins Police – Traffic Section officers will be monitoring this intersection, in keeping with the change in traffic control, to ensure compliance and promote roadway safety.

The Timmins Police Service will do everything it can to enhance road safety in Timmins, but the remainder of the burden lies with the individual drivers to be aware and alert behind the wheel.

From a policing perspective, safety is no accident.
