Timmins Police Official-Badge

The Timmins Police Service is completing its investigation into an incident involving a stolen vehicle which occurred during the early morning hours of July 16th.

Timmins Police received a report of a Ford SUV having been stolen in Timmins at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 16th.

The alleged stolen vehicle was located at approximately 2:50 a.m. by a Timmins Police officer who was completing patrols of the downtown core of the city of Timmins.

The driver was allegedly found to be displaying signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene by the Timmins Police officer.

The Timmins Police Service has charged a 22 year old Timmins man with:

  • One count of Take Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • One count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • One count of Operate Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Mgs of Alcohol in 100 Mls of Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused has been released on a Promise to Appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court on August 23rd to answer to the charge laid against him.
