A number of incidents has Timmins Police laying charges.

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a series of events where it is alleged a local man committed a number of offences on during the evening of April 9th culminating with his arrest.

The Timmins Police were made aware that a local man had allegedly attempted to break a window at the ONR station in Timmins. The suspect was identified but fled the scene when confronted by a security officer.

Later on that evening, the same suspect returned to an area retail store where he had been harassing and menacing a female employee for a number of days in a row. He is alleged to have repeated this type of behavior on April 9th as well.

The suspect was properly identified, located and arrested by the Timmins Police Service and taken into police custody.

As a result, Andrew WILLIAMS, 23, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • One count of Criminal Harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Cause Disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

Timmins Police Service officers responded to a call for service regarding a shoplifting incident in progress at a local retail store in Timmins on Sunday April 9th.

Upon arrival, the suspect was identified, located, and arrested by the Timmins Police Service and taken into police custody.

During the arrest, the suspect is alleged to have caused a disturbance on site.

It is further alleged that the suspect was found to be in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance.

As a result, Stephanie LAROCQUE, 29, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • One count of Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Causing a Disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

While completing general patrols of the downtown area on April 8th, a Timmins Police Service officer observed a local resident know to the police to be bound by strict restrictions imposed upon him by means of a conditional sentence.

Upon interviewing the man, the exact conditions of his conditional sentence were confirmed and the man was found to be allegedly in breach of those conditions by exiting his residence contrary to the restrictions that apply to him.

The suspect was properly identified and arrested by the Timmins Police Service and taken into police custody.
As a result, John WESLEY, 23, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • One count of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
