Two people—one from Timmins, the other from Black River-Matheson—are facing five charges each after a traffic stop east of North Bay.

North Bay OPP say they stopped a vehicle in Bonfield Wednesday afternoon, after they were advised it “was being driven very aggressively” on Highway 17 eastbound (near Highway 94).

Upon investigation, 22-year old Nicolas Malette (Timmins) and 19-year old Rosi Cote-Girard (Matheson) were both charged with the following:

  • Three counts – Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking – under 3 kilograms
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Malette and Cote-Girard are to appear in court in North Bay on July 25th.
