Charges are being laid after Timmins Police responded to an incident near Pine North and Sixth Avenue.

Police say they got a call about an assault with a weapon Saturday night around 10:30pm.

“Upon further investigation, officers determined that a disturbance had taken place involving several individuals,” police stated in a release, “As a result of the physical altercation, one individual suffered a laceration from an edged weapon.”

That person was sent to hospital for a minor injury.

Four unnamed men are being charged. One of them remains in custody, while the other three were released on a “promise to appear” with court dates not yet known.
