August 15th was a special day for local curlers, curling fans, and the community itself. Brad Jacobs and Ryan Fry made a stop in Timmins at the Northern Credit Union to meet and greet anyone wanting to meet them. Brad had nothing but great things to say regarding the stop in Timmins.

He started off talking about how he was worried about what the turnout might  look like considering the attendance was low last year. When he walked in having seen the big line he said ” I was surprised to see how many people came out to support us, seeing how big the line was and all the people there was simply heart warming.”

He was later asked what the tour was all about and he responded with this ” Northern credit union is all about community and giving back, and that’s what we are all about. We just want to give back to our fans and this is a good way to do it.”

The 2014 Olympic gold medalists are still thinking about the world stage, when asked about making a run at the 2022 Olympics he did not hesitate to say “we are going for it” he was very clear that they are looking for not only a “shot at redemption” but also “another shot at glory.” Jacobs finished by saying they will definitely consider coming back next year.
