About the Artist:

I am a self-taught artist who has had a passion for drawing, sketching, and painting my entire life – although I hadn’t given it much attention since I was young.

Three years ago I felt the urge to be creative once again. I dabbled in many different mediums such as; Prismacolor pencils, pastels, graphite, watercolors, oils and acrylics. It wasn’t until I had attended a paint night class two years ago, that I decided this was truly the path that I wanted to pursue.

I started a new business called “Brush Strokes Timmins”. My daughter Krystine and I complement each other quite well. While she looks after the email inquiries and website bookings from overseas, I prep the paintings, purchase the supplies, and teach the painting groups. Many of our classes are for fundraisers, some for girls’ nights, some are to celebrate birthdays, but most of them are just because. My favourite part of these events is the people I have had the pleasure to meet.

Having taught so many sessions over the last two years, I have improved tremendously as both an artist and an instructor. I’m always wanting to further develop my skills and therefore will continue to practice my craft on daily/weekly basis.

Art has become somewhat of a form of meditation for me. It grounds me and it brings me so much joy!
