Every day this week we are featuring platform highlights from the Ward Councillor candidates in the upcoming election. Our stations have reached out to each Councillor candidate to outline their platform for listeners. This is Ward 4 Councillor candidate Pat Bamford’s submitted platform.

My campaign slogan is “Standing up for Ward 4”…because, against heavy odds, I convinced the majority of council to give the good people of Porcupine and Ward 4 a brand new large impressive fire station to replace a cramped 70 year old hall.

And there is more good news. The East End is on the receiving end of 3 major connecting link projects that is adding all new lighting and paved shoulders. To protect Porcupine Lake, Ward 4 is now the site of the second largest sanitary sewer project in the history of Timmins.

We also pushed back against those who would love to close the Tisdale Transfer site. With the help of the TEDC, 3 new industries, bringing jobs and investment, are expanding into Ward 4.

“Standing up for Ward 4” also means fiscal responsibility…for example, we converted all our street lights to LED…for an incredible savings. So now, going forward, one of my major goals, for Ward 4 and the entire city, which everyone should welcome, will be a concerted effort and the resources to resurface all our crumbling streets, finally.
