**TIMMINS FLOOD ADVISORY COMMITTEE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Flood Advisory Committee reports that the Flood Warning for the Mattagami River and Porcupine Lake has now been cancelled. Although stream flows and water levels are still high for this time of year, they continue to drop.

Public safety is absolutely the number one priority, especially for children who may be attracted to the edge of creeks or rivers. The fast flowing water must be avoided. Stream banks will be very slippery and unsafe, and must be avoided.

The Timmins Flood Advisory Committee will continue monitoring water flows and elevations and will keep the public informed of the situation through further news releases and bulletins. This statement will remain in effect until October 19, 2018.

Residents can visit the MRCA website at http://mrca.timmins.ca for the latest information on watershed conditions and public advisories.
