**TEMAGAMI OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On December 2, 2018 shortly before 5:30 p.m., members from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Bear Island First Nations Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious person on Highway 11 in the Town of Temagami, Ontario. 

Further investigation revealed that a female was in a vehicle and attempting to drive away without a valid driver’s licence. A few hours earlier, the same female was observed driving by another officer.

The 42-year-old accused, Lisa CECY, of Perry Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with: 

 

 

  • Drive while disqualified – court order, contrary to section 259(4) of the Criminal Code (CC).

 

The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45 days. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA). She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 15, 2019, in Haileybury, Ontario.
