**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

The annual Cram-A-Cruiser event was held on Saturday, December 15th, 2018, from 10:00 to 16:00 hrs.and was very successful due to the generosity of the citizens of Timmins.

The Timmins Police enlisted the assistance of Glenn Simpson, Rob Ferri, Lacey Rigg, Jessika Spence, and Marc Depatie.

The OPP were aptly represented by Tibor Lesko, Kathy Charlebois, and Rick Audette.

Other non-police civilian volunteers were Teena Simpson, Jennifer Simpson, and Joseph Depatie.

The teams of TPS and OPP Auxiliary officers and volunteers were set-up at 5 area grocery stores throughout the city including: the Metro on Algonquin, YIGS, Food Basics on Brunette, Levis Foodland, and the Metro in South Porcupine.

In summary, they collected 6,100 pounds of food and raised $3,233.35 in cash for the following area food banks: the Timmins Food Bank, Project Love, First Baptist Church and the South Porcupine Food Bank who were the recipients of the food and cash. (Everything was divided equally).

A special acknowledgment must be made to the civilian volunteers and to the local Avis/Budget franchise of Timmins for the use of the cube van that allowed for food collection and distribution to take place.

The Food Drive was a great success once again this year. It worked out very well thanks to the organizational skills and community spirit deployed by the Timmins Police Auxiliary Unit and the OPP Auxiliary Unit.
