**JAMES BAY OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On January 18, 2019, at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a drug trafficking incident on George Street in the Town of Hearst, Ontario.

 

Police investigation revealed that a drug transaction had occurred at a local business and a male was arrested.

 

Curtis BUNTING, 35-years-old, of Constance Lake First Nation, Ontario has been charged with the following offences:

 

  • Trafficking In Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamines contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamines contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid contrary to section 4(1) CDSA, and
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

 

Police seized controlled substances and Canadian currency with a combined estimated street value of $1500.

 

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst, Ontario, on March 6, 2019, to answer to the charges.
