The Timmins Police Service has charged a local woman stemming from an incident which occurred at a Third Avenue restaurant during the early evening hours of Saturday, February 2nd.

It is alleged that an altercation between an unruly patron and the restaurant’s manager occurred based on the patron’s refusal to vacate the restaurant due to her behavior.

At one point, the altercation escalated into a verbally abusive and physically assaultive event where the manager was allegedly struck by the patron.

Timmins Police Service officers located the suspect a short distance from the scene as they responded to a complaint of a similar nature involving the same suspect at a second location.

The suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

As a result of the incident, Manon LEVESQUE, 30, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
– 2 counts of Fail To Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
