**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On Saturday February 16, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving two motorized snow vehicles (MSV). The collision occurred on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobiles Club (OFSC) trail A108, near Kirkland Lake, Ontario. 

Investigation determined that MSV’s were travelling in opposite directions and they collided. One operator, suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital and released.

As a result of the police investigation a 40-year-old male from North Perth, Ontario, has been charged with:  

 

  • Fail to Share Half Roadway – Meeting Vehicle, contrary to the Ontario Regulation 804 section 10(1) of the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act.

 

Police are reminding snowmobilers to ride with caution and within your capability.
