**CITY OF TIMMINS NEWS RELEASE**

On Friday, March 1 after the close of the workday, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) faxed the City notice of its intention to lead its members at the Victor M. Power Airport off the job on strike effective Monday, March 4 at 6 p.m.

Mediation is scheduled for today between the City and the union. The City’s last offer to the union was delivered on February 6. The union flatly refused that offer and has not provided a counter offer since that time. It is hoped that this meeting will help move all parties towards agreement.

Travellers may expect some delays in the event of the establishment of a picket line, and should factor that into their preparation for flights. The City of Timmins will continue to provide safe and reliable airport operations in the event of a labour disruption.
