**Timmins Police News Release**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with Attempted Murder stemming from an incident which occurred in a residence in the north end of the city on Sunday, February 12th.
 
The Timmins Police Service was advised of the incident and a comprehensive investigation was undertaken by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigation Division with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit.
During the course of the investigation, additional previous incidents of a criminal nature were identified to the police resulting in further intensive investigation.
 
As a result of the investigation, Richard FORGET, 59, of Timmins, was arrested by the Timmins Police Service on Thursday, April 4th.
 
He has been charged with:
– Attempt Murder contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 2 counts of Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Sexual Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Forcible Confinement contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
 
The accused was held in custody for the purposes of a bail hearing held on Monday April 8th .
At the bail hearing, he was released from police custody and is required to attend Provincial Court on April 16th to answer to the charges laid against him.
