The Timmins Police Service was called to the scene of a residential robbery in the north end of the city which occurred during the early evening hours of Wednesday, April 24th where a man had been assaulted and the suspects had made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The responding Timmins Police Service officers completed the initial phases of the investigation and determined that 3 men had allegedly gained entry into the residence and proceeded to assault the male resident until a quantity of cash was turned over to them.  The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle that the complainant was able to describe for the investigating officers.  The matter was turned over the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division and, based on their investigative efforts, the suspects were identified.

The Timmins Police Service located and arrested one of the suspects on Friday, April 26th without incident.

As a result of this incident, Dakota TRUMBLE, 19, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling House contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Disguise With Intent to Commit an Offence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Robbery contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Mischief Under $5000 contrary to a Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
