**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a Kamiskotia Lake resident with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an ongoing dispute that escalated to the level of alleged criminal activity over the weekend.
The Timmins Police Service responded to a complaint on the afternoon of Friday, July 19th, and completed an investigation into the destructive and aggressive comportment of a Kamiskotia Lake resident.

Based on the assessment of alleged damage to private property and other aspects of the investigation, John SABOURIN, 77, of Kamiskotia Lake (Timmins) has been charged with:

– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Mischief – Destroy Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Criminal Harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The man was taken into police custody after the matter was thoroughly investigated.
The accused was released from custody on strict conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior and to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on August 13th to answer to the charges laid against him.

The Timmins Police Service were called upon to respond to a renewed complaint on the afternoon of Saturday, July 20th, and completed a second investigation of a similar nature into the destructive and aggressive comportment of the same man.

Based on this second complaint and resulting investigation, the same individual has been charged with additional charges of:
Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Mischief Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Criminal Harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The man was arrested on Saturday evening (20 July) and remains in police custody awaiting a Bail Hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins in order to address all charges laid against him.
